Prison to Parole Pre & Post Release Program
The Prison to Parole Program offers the opportunity for participants to consider their attitudes and behaviour in relation to their alcohol and/or drug use, with the aim of changing adverse use in order to encourage non-using lifestyle behaviour. The Program is organized in two stages:
- Pre Release assessment and counselling while in custodial service. Pre release counselling is offered in all metropolitan prisons. Counselling may focus on immediate needs and the establishment of a release plan.
- Post Release intervention program offers educational and therapeutic interventions in accordance with referring bodies conditions. Post release counselling considers the conditions under which the participant is obliged to undertake treatment as well as their individual needs.
