The Drug and Alcohol Through-care Service (DATS) is an assessment, counselling and referral service for offenders pre and post release.
DATS is a voluntary service that is provided by both Cyrenian House and Holyoake and works alongside:
- Health Services within the prison
- Community Justice Services
- Drug and Alcohol Support groups or programs
- Welfare services
DATS is available for offenders at Acacia, Bandyup, Boronia, Casuarina, Hakea, Karnet and Wooroloo Prisons three months before release and provides counselling and support from six weeks to six months after release.
For Prisoners to access this service they need to contact the Transitional Manager at the prison they are in. If they are in Acacia Prison then they need to contact the Resettlement Manager.
